Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is a two-day celebration of music, art, and individuality, held at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Created by Tyler, the Creator, the festival is an inspiring mix of carnival rides, diverse food vendors, and an eclectic lineup of artists across genres. For me, Camp Flog Gnaw has been one of the biggest reasons I chose to pursue a career in music. Tyler's creativity and fearless ambition have encouraged me to chase my wildest dreams, and this festival gives me the chance to connect with others who share that same love for music, creativity, and self-expression

Working as media at Camp Flog Gnaw has been a long-time dream, and this year, that dream is finally coming true! Since I’ll be there capturing the festival from a media perspective, I thought I’d share what I’m packing in my bag. While most festival essentials are pretty straightforward, I’ve got some unique tips and random must-haves that might come in handy. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and hopefully help someone else have an amazing experience!
1. MOVO Mini Mics - Perfect for grabbing quick interviews on a budget! These little guys are tiny but mighty. Just don’t be that person with a dead mic—keep everything charged, folks!
2. Sony Camera + Extra SD Cards - I'll be snapping artist portraits with my Sony AX700. Pro tip: bring extra SD cards. Trust me, you don’t want to see “Memory Full” when Tyler’s doing something epic. I also carry a little SD case because trying to remember what's on each card without one is chaos.
3. Collapsible Water Bottle - Most festivals are like, "Nope!" to metal bottles, so bring a collapsible one. It squishes down to make room for other goodies, saves you from overpriced bottled water, and reminds you to stay hydrated (pro tip: the sun is undefeated in LA). Amazon has great ones that don’t break the bank!
4. Hand Sanitizer - Obviously. Festivals are fun until you realize you’re out of soap and just touched the porta-potty door. Touchland has super cute ones that smell amazing. So, at least when your friends borrow it, they’ll thank you twice!
5. Sunglasses - One part fashion, two parts survival. The sun will absolutely roast you on that pavement, so grab some shades you love. Look cool, avoid squinting, win-win!
6. Portable Chargers - You say you won’t need it—until you do. I swear, every year, someone’s like, “I’ll be fine!” and then they’re asking to borrow my charger 30 minutes in. Just bring one. Your Insta story battery demands it.
7. Set Times as Wallpaper - Festival hack: screenshot the set times and make it your wallpaper. You won’t waste precious seconds hunting through screenshots, or worse, praying for service. Plus, you'll look like you know what you’re doing.
8. First Aid Kit - Look, even if you're not prone to blisters or falls, someone’s gonna need a Band-Aid, guaranteed. Whether it’s for your Docs-induced heel disaster or your friend’s new shoes, this little kit has saved me more times than I can count.
9. Fanny Pack - Forget the giant clear tote. Fanny packs are the way. They hold just what you need, don’t weigh you down, and make you look like a pro at breezing through crowds.
10. Layers - LA weather is the ultimate catfish. It’s all warm vibes until the sun sets, then it’s like, “Surprise, it’s freezing!” A light sweater tied around your waist is a game-changer, or just grab merch and look like a true fan.
11. ID + Credit Card Only - Trust me, leave the full wallet at home. Festivals are mostly cashless, and all you need is your ID and one card. Toss them in a tiny pouch, clip it to your keys, and you’re golden—no need to worry about losing your entire life in one swipe!
SEE YOU AT DODGER STADIUMMMMM!!
