GRRRL Music x Nev Rosales: 10 Up & Coming Hispanic & Latinx Artists To Watch

Oct 5, 2023

Kelsey

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we at GRRRL Music felt it was only fitting to collaborate with our friend and talented Cuban singer, Nev Rosales. We want to showcase just a glimpse of the remarkable musical contributions from the Hispanic & Latin communities. Here are 10 rising artists from diverse genres that you simply can't miss out on:

The Tiarras

A sister trio from Austin, Texas, with a powerful force. Their blend of rock, pop, and Latin fusion is not only a testament to their musical prowess but also a symbol of the evolving landscape of Latin music. As they break barriers and pave the way for women in the industry, they are undoubtedly a band to watch, and their music is a journey you won't want to miss. Catch them playing in Texas for Martian Fest and River Revival this month!

KAINA

Meet Kaina, the Chicago queen who’s music makes you feel right at home. With roots in Venezuela and Guatemala, her unique blend of alternative, indie, and soul creates a dreamy and gentle air that resonates with every listener. Don't miss her on her fall tour this month for a chance to experience her intimate and captivating performances live!

Csandra

Get ready to meet Csandra, the Puerto Rican singer hailing from Orlando, Florida, whose music is a delightful fusion of high energy and dreamy vibes. Ranging indie to alternative, and her distinct, slightly raspy voice adds a unique charm to her sound. Her diverse musical range ensures there's something for everyone to enjoy. Don't miss her latest release, DMLO Remix, a spin on her song DMLO.

Quelle Rox

Introducing Quelle Rox, a talented Puerto Rican and Cuban singer and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. She brings a unique blend of fast paced and dreamy hyper pop beats to the music scene. You won’t want to miss listening to her latest single release and music video Vomittt!

Andria Rose

Meet Andria Rose, a talented Mexican singer-songwriter calling San Antonio, Texas home. Her music immerses you in a dreamy, velvety sonic journey that transcends eras. Don't miss the chance to experience her unique sound with her latest single, "Daddy Issues."

lusillón

Madrid born & raised, bedroom pop’s newest darling, lusillón, is making waves in the scene for her intimate music. Her 2023 album, ‘Pensando mucho y mal’ is a beautiful journey that you can feel in your bones. She has just released a new single in collaboration with Ona Mafalda and is surely one to watch in the scene.

Girl Ultra

One of the best up & coming R&B singers, Girl Ultra, has been giving us the most beautifully sung, romantic music for a few years now. Touted as Mexico’s ‘Drake’, she uses her Girl Ultra persona to become an extroverted, loud singer - and it works. With a voice that feels like an opera singer, and classic R&B that makes you feel good about yourself, she is ON our artists to watch.

BECCA

Los Angeles born & bred, BECCA, uses her Salvadoran roots to bring a lite hyper-pop quality to the music scene. Not only an established artist, she also is highly involved in the film & media industry, using her voice to uplift other artists and allowing them to tell their stories. With her recent single, “Twisted Reality”, BECCA is officially on her healing journey, allowing listeners to dive deep into her feelings with her.

Y La Bamba

Queer, Mexican-American artist, Y La Bamba, should always be on your radar, as they released their 7th album this year! The Latin folk group continues to push boundaries with their music, weaving through English and Spanish in a psychedelic trip that feels so safe and comforting. Luz Elena Mendoza Ramos has such a uniquely powerful voice without being loud. There’s intention behind every note and it truly creates such a beautiful sound.

Lilly Yan

Melodic and heavenly is really the only way to describe Honduran-American artist, Lilly Yan’s music. A blend of indie pop and R&B, Yan’s voice will lull you into a meditative state that brings peace to the listener. Intertwining throughout her music are disco and funk influences that will have your ear needing more, but we have to wait. With only singles out, let’s cross our fingers we get an EP or album soon.
