On October 4th, Southern California’s alt-pop artist Presence celebrated the release of his debut album, TEARS IN THE MOSHPIT, with a deeply personal and unforgettable album release party in Los Angeles. Surrounded by friends, family, and fans, the evening was a reflection of Presence’s journey and the raw emotion behind his music.

This night held extra meaning for me. I first met Presence in March at our GRRRL MUSIC x Nettwerk showcase, and our whole team was blown away by his kindness and genuine passion for his art. Reconnecting in LA for this event felt like the universe’s way of affirming I’m in the right place. Having just moved to LA—a city that never seems to slow down—I’ve often questioned if it was the right decision. But hearing Presence’s story and watching the album come to life in such a powerful way made me realize I’m exactly where I need to be.

The release party was filled with touching moments. Watching his parents dance and sing along to his lyrics was unforgettable. It was clear that TEARS IN THE MOSHPIT is more than just an album—it’s an exploration of the full range of human emotions: pain, happiness, grief, loneliness, confusion, and acceptance. The way Presence transforms such difficult experiences into something positive is nothing short of remarkable.

Adding to the magic of the night was a special zine Presence created just for this event. The zine featured photographs and creative designs that beautifully captured the memories and emotions behind each track on the album. I was so excited to run home and show it to my friends—it perfectly embodied the essence of this project and the thoughtfulness behind his work.

Moments like these remind me of why I love music: for its ability to build community, to heal, and to connect people through shared experiences. Presence’s TEARS IN THE MOSHPIT is a testament to that power, and I feel so grateful to have been a part of this unforgettable evening.
