UPSAHL is a party-starter and vulnerable truth-sayer with a punk rock heart. Since her viral hit "Drugs" in 2020, the Phoenix, Arizona native has proven herself as a prolific and prodigious talent. Her bold 2021 debut album Lady Jesus, four EPs, and a clutch of on-point bangers have captured her coming-of-age journey in succinct, radio-ready pop songs that seamlessly blend her varied influences. With co-writes for pop heavyweights like Dua Lipa, Madison Beer, Demi Lovato, Reneé Rapp, and Dove Cameron, UPSAHL has developed a unique alt edge that shines through her own work.
On September 11th, I had the pleasure of catching her live at the El Rey Theater in LA on her "MELT ME DOWN TOUR". From the moment fans started gathering, buzzing with excitement and proudly sporting her merch, the anticipation was palpable. Openers Zoe Ko and Conor Burns delivered energetic performances that perfectly primed the crowd for what was to come.
When the curtains finally lifted, UPSAHL hit the stage with an effortlessly sexy and confident presence. Her connection with the audience made the high-energy show feel intimate, almost personal. Everyone in the room was ready to dance, scream, and let loose. UPSAHL's set was the perfect balance of punk-infused party anthems and raw vulnerability, and every moment felt electric. This wasn’t just a concert—it was a full-throttle experience led by a true alt-pop powerhouse.
