Rapper Big Boss Vette is renowned for her fearless lyricism set against electrifying, high-energy beats. Originating from St. Louis, this artist, formerly recognized as Yvette, initially forged her fanbase through the power of social media. She catapulted to fame as an independent artist with viral hits such as "Bad Bitch" in 2019 and "Outside" in 2020. Subsequently, a record label deal brought forth a series of equally unapologetic singles, including 2022's "Snatched" and "Pretty Girls Walk."

Diamond Smith, the creative force behind Big Boss Vette, began her journey into rap during her high school years. In a serendipitous turn of events, the morning after uploading her rendition of Dej Loaf's 2014 hit "Try Me," she realized she had gone viral. This encouraged her to harness that momentum with more original uploads. As she ventured into crafting her own material, lightning struck again in 2019 with the viral success of "Bad Bitch," followed by a repeat performance the following year with "Outside."

In a career marked by ascension, Smith inked a dual deal with Amigo Records and Beatstaz, bolstered by a licensing agreement with Republic Records. Under the stage name Big Boss Vette, she made her label debut in 2021 with "Eater," followed by the release of "Big Boss Vette." Her singles in the subsequent year included standout tracks like "Snatched," featuring a remix that boasted the talents of Flo Mili and Saucy Santana, as well as "Pretty Girls Walk." Vette's first release of 2023 was a remix of "Pretty Girls Walk," amplified by Coi Leray

The moment Big Boss Vette stepped onto the camera, her energy radiated, matching her reputation effortlessly. She exudes confidence to her very core, and she openly shared how music and her dreams saved her from rock bottom. Her vibrant energy has a way of making you both laugh and feel fully alive. She is undoubtedly one of the emerging stars in the world of hip-hop.

Big Boss Vette has recently graced us with her new album, "Resilience." To celebrate the album's release, she unveiled a personal short film that delves deep into her resilience story. It commences with a powerful statement from the hit-maker, declaring, "the good stuff y'all see came from a million failures." The film then traces her journey from the very beginning to her current success. It's a candid and inspiring narrative highlighting how self-belief can unlock the doors to realizing your dreams.

"Resilience" offers a collection of seven brand-new tracks, with the standout "Get It" serving as a multigenerational anthem suitable for any backyard barbecue. Other songs, including the punchy "Another One" and the club-ready banger "Lick The Cat," underscore Big Boss Vette's remarkable knack for crafting unforgettable hooks.

At the conference held by 1824, I had the unique chance to pose a question directly to the queen herself...

Q: What are your thoughts on the current state of the music industry and its representation of female artists, especially in the rap genre?

Big Boss Vette:"I truly believe that everyone is on their path to success, and each journey is uniquely their own. The talented women in the industry are giving rise to a diverse array of genres, and every artist has their own special niche. When we talk about women in rap, it's important to note that we don't represent a monolith. I'm here to represent for my 'cousins'—this term signifies my fanbase, my extended family of supporters, not necessarily by blood. We're all in this journey together, thriving and making our mark. Just as I stand up for my 'cousins,' Cardi B represents her crew, and City Girls do the same. When they attempt to pit us against one another, it's ultimately futile. Each one of us brings a unique and innovative perspective to the table."
